The armed forces of Slovenia are the Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF; Slovene Slovenska vojska [SV]). It has been a fully professional-standing army since 2003. While the Commander-in-Chief of SAF is the President of Slovenia, operational command falls under the purview of the Chief of General Staff of Slovenian Armed Forces.
