Informations

The Paraguayan Armed Forces (Spanish: Fuerzas Armadas de Paraguay), consist of the Paraguayan army and navy, including naval aviation and marine corps, and an air force. Paraguay's constitution establishes that the president is the commander-in chief. Paraguay requires all 18-year old males and girls to complete one year of military service.

The 1992 constitution permits conscientious objection. However, no enabling legislation has been approved. Paraguays Mariscal Estigarribia, an expansive complex that was built in 1982, received military aid in July 2005 in the form U.S. Special Forces.
