Latvia's armed forces are the Latvian National Armed Forces (Latvian : Latvijas Nacionalie brunotie speki). Latvia's defense concept is built on a mobile, professional rapid response force and reserve section that can be mobilized quickly if necessary. The National Armed Forces is made up of Land Forces and Naval Forces as well as the Air Force, Air Force, and National Guard.

Its primary tasks include protecting the territory of the state, participating in international military operations and preventing threats to national security.
