Ruta graveolens [L. strong smelling rue], commonly known as rue, common rue or herb-of-grace, is a species of Ruta grown as an ornamental plant and herb. It is native to the Balkan Peninsula. It is now grown throughout the world in gardens, especially for its bluish leaves, and sometimes for its tolerance of hot and dry soil conditions.



It is also cultivated as a medicinal herb, as a condiment, and to a lesser extent as an insect repellent.

Falfurrias ( fal-FYOOR-ee-əs) is a city in and the county seat of Brooks County, Texas. Its population was 4,981 at the 2010 census. The town is named for founder Edward Cunningham Lasater's ranch, La Mota de Falfurrias. In 1893, the Falfurrias ranch was one of the largest in Texas at some 350,000 acres (140,000 ha).



The town has made recent headlines due to a close proximity to a United States Border Patrol interior checkpoint off Highway 281.Falfurrias and Brooks County were featured in a 2014 Latino USA story on illegal immigration in South Texas.
