Algiers ( al-JEERZ; Arabic: الجزائر‎; Berber: Dzayer; French: Alger) is the capital and largest city of Algeria. The city's population at the 2008 Census was 2,988,145 and in 2011 was estimated to be around 3,500,000. An estimate puts the population of the larger metropolitan city to be around 5,000,000. Algiers is located on the Mediterranean Sea and at the north-central portion of Algeria.

Algiers is located on the west side of a bay of the Mediterranean Sea. The modern area of the town is built on the level ground by the seashore; the older part, the ancient city of the deys, climbs the steep hill behind the modern city and is crowned by the casbah or citadel, 122 metres (400 ft) above the sea. The casbah and the two quays form a triangle.

Islamabad (; Urdu: اسلام آباد, romanized: Islāmābād) is the capital city of Pakistan, and is administered within the Islamabad Capital Territory. Islamabad is the ninth largest city in Pakistan, while the bigger Islamabad--Rawalpindi metropolitan area is the country's fourth largest with a population of about 3.1 million. Other landmarks include the Pakistan National Monument and Democracy Square.Islamabad is a Gamma + town as rated by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. The town has the highest cost of living in Pakistan, and its population is dominated by middle and upper middle class citizens.The town is home to twenty schools, including Bahria University, Quaid-e-Azam University, PIEAS, COMSATS University and NUST. The city is among the safest in Pakistan, and has an expansive RFID-enabled surveillance system with almost 2000 CCTV cameras.
