Wolgograd (russisch Волгоград ), bis 1925 Zarizyn (russisch Царицын ), von 1925 bis 1961 Stalingrad (russisch Сталинград ), ist eine russische Millionenstadt mit 1.021.215 Einwohnern (Stand 14. Oktober 2010). Sie ist das administrative und wirtschaftliche Zentrum an der unteren Wolga.

Die Stadt ist ein bedeutender Verkehrsknotenpunkt und ein wichtiges Industriezentrum. Als Ort der Schlacht von Stalingrad im Zweiten Weltkrieg ging die Stadt in die Weltgeschichte ein.
