Timișoara (, deutsch: Temeswar, veraltet auch Temeschwar oder Temeschburg, ungarisch Temesvár, serbokroatisch Темишвар/Temišvar) ist eine Stadt im westlichen Rumänien, die Hauptstadt des Kreises Timiș, Sitz der Planungsregion West und das historische, wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Zentrum des Temescher Banats.

Die Stadt wies 2011 nach Bukarest und knapp hinter Cluj-Napoca die drittgrößte Einwohnerzahl des Landes auf. Donauschwaben stellten bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg die größte ethnische Gruppe der Stadt.
