Montreux (Aussprache: /mɔ̃.tʁø/) ist eine Stadt und eine politische Gemeinde im Bezirk Riviera-Pays-d’Enhaut des Kantons Waadt in der Schweiz. Der frühere deutsche Name Muchtern wird heute nicht mehr verwendet. Die Stadt liegt am Genfersee im Schutz von 2000 Meter hohen Berggipfeln.

Die klimatischen Bedingungen und die subtropische Vegetation an der Uferpromenade machen Montreux zum Fremdenverkehrsort von internationalem Ruf, bekannt zudem als Austragungsort des Montreux Jazz Festival.
